This diptych, part of the series created between 2022 and 2024, merges abstract and figurative forms to evoke an emotional narrative of transition and contrast. The composition juxtaposes dark, light, and soft hues to create a dreamlike representation of universal themes—loss and hope, pain and joy.
The central panel radiates with warm yellows and oranges, symbolizing light, energy, and renewal, while the flanking panels, with their deep blues and muted greys, suggest introspection and the enigmatic quiet of night. This interplay of colors and textures forms an immersive "mindscape," capturing the rhythm of opposites coexisting within the human experience.
The oil medium brings a layered depth to the work, with subtle blending and transparency reminiscent of watercolor, reflecting the artist's transition to oils after years of mastering water-based paints. The sweeping gradients and undulating forms transport the viewer into an ambiguous yet emotive landscape, where the boundaries of dream and reality blur.
This piece resonates as a poetic exploration of inner transformations, capturing both the fragility and strength of the human spirit. It invites the viewer to contemplate cycles of light and darkness, presence and absence, within their own lives.
